Quick Fix: Description Key Configuration Issues in AutoCAD Civil 3D

November 10, 2015 By Leo Lavayen Leave a comment

During a recent AutoCAD Civil 3D Survey Class, we came across an issue when trying to customize the appearance of point labels within the Description Keys Configuration.

The Issue

The Description Key ignores any value assigned to the "Label Fixed Rotation" field.

The Solution

The workaround found here is to enable the "Marker Fixed Rotation" field to something greater than zero (even 0.0001 will work). This will somehow enable the value in the value in the "Label Fixed Rotation" field to be used.

Autodesk has recognized this as an issue and has sent it to the AutoCAD Civil 3D Development Team to review and correct. They even created a write up (similar to this blog) on the official Autodesk Knowledge Network.
