The Road to AU 2014

August 18, 2014 By Robert Savage Leave a comment

Hello, my name is Robert Savage I am an Educational Specialist with Advanced Solutions. I teach our PILOT (Professional Instructor Live Online Training) courses for the Manufacturing industry.

I have been selected as an instructor for Autodesk University 2014, and will be sharing the AU instructor process and my first-hand experience of submitting, generating and delivering a class via this blog. I will write several blog posts throughout the process including a daily post if possible from AU2014 December 2-4 at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas.

The AU course selection process starts in late April when they send out the Call for Proposals to be accepted from late April to late May. The proposal is basically a title and a brief description of what you feel would be a good class along with a short bio to show your qualifications for doing the class. They recommend that the class be process driven versus feature driven and be something original in content or perspective. The notifications go out in late June if you are accepted. I proposed a couple of classes. One was accepted: “Simulate while you Design with Inventor and Simulation DFM” (Design for Manufacturability).
