One of my favorite Autodesk presenters, Angel Espinoza, shared some insight into improving the quality of Aerial Images from models built using the Autodesk InfraWorks 360 Model Builder. I found this information so helpful, I thought I would share the 4 Steps to Improving Aerial Image Quality in InfraWorks 360.

When multiple alignments are present at an intersection, Civil 3D will recognize ALL of the alignments and create funky corridors.
It is not a typical scenario to have multiple alignments stacked up in the same location. However, there are some reasons for overlaps, such as:

During a recent AutoCAD Civil 3D Survey Class, we came across an issue when trying to customize the appearance of point labels within the Description Keys Configuration.
The Description Key ignores any value assigned to the "Label Fixed Rotation" field.

Why Networked Software Beats Out Standalone for Project Teams
Does your project team run its Autodesk software applications on their individual computers? If you’re still working in an environment where every individual is running software applications as standalone licenses, you may want to consider adopting a networked license approach to maximize efficiency within your organization.

BIM for Infrastructure is now!
This is your chance to learn how to take advantage of BIM within Infrastructure throughout design, engineering, and construction. As an ever increasing number of infrastructure projects use Building Information Modeling (BIM), many in the industry are realizing they need to embrace BIM to compete and win new work. A range of appealing benefits accompany projects that use a BIM-based approach: less rework, fewer errors, enhanced collaboration, and useful design data.

What do you need to know about the Autodesk Perpetual Licensing Changes?
I recently was involved in two seperate support cases for Civil 3D, where the software users asked for assistance with alignment using surface elevations. I decided to create this blog post as a quick reference on this design issue, as well as provide the same information in Spanish.
In the current release of InfraWorks 2015, there are NO Cul-De-Sac or Roundabout options, not even within the Roadway module. Autodesk is working on the Roundabout feature, but it is unclear when this will be released, we hope it will be later this year.
For now, take a look at the pictures below, 3 styles were created by copying the existing style and making some modifications.
The question of how to show Existing and Proposed design on a cross section has come up in the past couple of my custom classes. I’ve always assumed it could be done, but finally decided to put my thoughts to the test and create a write up.
