Autodesk just release the AutoCAD Plant 3D 2015 Extension 1 to subscription customers on Sept 19, 2014. Extension 1 focuses on the Vault instigation and revamping the Isometric configuration setting.

First we will look into the isometric changes to the configuration setting. Some of the setting available the the project setup were only accessible through configuring the isoconfig.xml file.

On the Iso Style Setup under file naming we can now add addition information to our file name. Select the drop down list to add additional information to the file name.

On the Default tab (formally Advanced Defaults) there are features for defining the Data Format. We can set the date format, measurement (Imperial or Metric) and default themes for dimensioning.

The big changes fall on the Annotations and Dimensions settings. On the annotation tab the symbology is displayed as images so you can see how the symbology will display. When select the BOM, Valve Tag, Spool, Welds, and or Cut pieces you can select the leader, enclusre symbols. Prior to the extension they were listed as text.
