Simulation... Why it's No Longer a Luxury!

August 17, 2016 By Nick Duff Leave a comment

Not too long ago, the cost of performing high-level analysis and simulation was a complicated and costly process, that was rarely necessary. However, things have changed in today's business climate, of being low-cost and highly competitive in this fast-paced world.  We have to be able to iterate and improve designs quickly, with accuracy, and without the burden and time-consuming nature of prototyping. Who has the budget to do that these days?  This leaves us with one alternative... Simulation!

Autodesk Inventor 2016 What’s New – 3D Printing Environment

April 13, 2015 By Craig Bashor Leave a comment

Welcome back to another post about Autodesk Inventor 2016 What's New. I will be your host Bob Barker... Just kidding, my name is Craig. I was just trying to lighten the mood. Now, on with the serious and cool stuff.

It seems to me that more and more companies are investing in 3D printing and/or rapid prototyping. The market is exploding for end-users looking to purchasing a 3D printer. Some of the major 3D printing providers are Ultimaker, RepRap, Makerbot and now even Autodesk has jumped in the game with Ember. In fact, Advanced Solutions has even developed a printer for the bio-medical printer industry.

Giffin Finds a Valued Partner in Advanced Solutions

March 31, 2015 By April Raque Leave a comment

Giffin, a design-build firm, focusing primarily on automotive and aerospace metal finishing projects, approached Advanced Solutions to develop a solid process to continuously improve their competitive advantage. They needed a dependable and knowledgeable Autodesk partner, who could understand their process and provide solutions to decrease completion times for engineering projects.

In order to bring Giffin to a new level of productivity, Advanced Solutions performed an intense Process Improvement Analysis, enabling them to take a “deep dive” into the current design-build process within the organization. “That was key to us because we needed their experience, their expertise, in explaining what software to use versus us just going out, and picking one, and hoping for the best,” shared Giffin Design Manager, Jeff Makarewicz.
